The Fuller Futures Festival “Reimagining Solutions for the World We Share,” hosted by SIU Carbondale, will feature programming inspired by the vision and legacy of noted futurist, architect and designer R. Buckminster Fuller.

SIU Carbondale police adds community service, therapy K-9 to roster
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) recently added a new member to its force as another component in its community outreach efforts. Through a partnership with Supporting Independence Through Teamwork (SIT) Service Dogs, “King Tut” or “KT,” will serve as a community outreach and therapy canine in support of the department’s commitment to engagement, wellness and relationship-building across campus.

SIU Jazz Ensemble to perform Tuesday
As part of Jazz Appreciation Month, the SIU Jazz Ensemble will perform a free, public spring concert in the Old Baptist Foundation Recital Hall at SIU Carbondale at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 14. The ensemble is directed by Isaac Lausell, associate professor and director of jazz studies in the SIU School of Music.

Family Eco Festival supports hands-on learning, Southern Illinois teachers
The public is invited to a free event on Earth Day that highlights nature, conservation and Southern Illinois’ unique ecology through immersive experiences – some of which feel out of this world. Teachers from SIU Carbondale’s River Region Master Teaching Fellows Program will host the fifth annual Family Eco Festival at Alto Vineyards from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 19.
